Mindfulness is a simple technique of being “aware and present”. It can be as simple as counting 10 breaths while focusing on each inhale and exhale. It’s a great way to do a quick reset if you’re feeling stressed. A couple of quick tips:
Take care of your body
Not taking care of yourself physically will have direct effects on you mentally. Regular exercise, a healthy diet and getting the sleep you need will do wonders for your mental health. Sure you work long shifts, but even a short 10 – 20 minute workout or yoga routine is enough.
Sometimes you just need some Me-time. Whether it’s getting a massage, going on a nature walk, listening to music or a podcast, enjoying a hobby or keeping a daily journal find something that is for you and you alone. Do it regularly.
